Breast pump?

Question

Hey ladies! Baby is due in a week and I need to buy a breast pump. My insurance covers one but due to ridiculous circumstances with my douchebag OB's office, I can't get one through them, so the sky is the limit as they say and I need to purchase one before baby comes so the lactation consultant can assist me with it when the time comes. What kind of breast pump do you have? Any recommendations? Any complaints? All I know is I want automatic and easily accessible. Thank you!

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your suggestions! My insurance cannot and will not do so without a prescription and doctor refuses to give one. I ultimately paid out of pocket for a Medela automatic.

I have a medella that I got through a medical supply chain online. I didn't even have to deal with my ob's office. The company did all the paper work for me. I simply gave them my information and insurance and mine was delivered via mail. I would look into edgepark. They are the company that I went through.

I can't believe your OB won't write you a script for one. That's absurd.

I also got the Medela Advanced Starter Kit. I ordered through my insurance on Edgepark but you can just buy the same one. Edgepark was kind of crappy in my opinion, they kept calling the wrong insurance company to verify my coverage so it took me about a month to get mine. I think it normally would have only taken a week or so though because it shipped fast once the called the right insurance company so you probably still have time.

My hospital has breast bumps there so I'm not even bringing mine to the hospital.

I just bought one on clearance (at Shopko).  It was $150 originally.  I got it for $16!!!   But I know Target has a bunch on clearance right now too...

I went through Aeroflow (breastpumps.aeroflowinc.com) to get my pump.  You fill out and submit their form and they will work with your insurance company to get the pump covered. I received my pump almost 2 weeks ago, at no cost. 
They were super friendly and I didn't have to do anything aside from filling out the form and talking to them on the phone once or twice to get my pump.

Can't you get your ob to write you a script for one that buy it through a breastfeeding store that accepts insurance?  That's what I did and my insurance covered $175

I didn't have to go through my OB's office at all! I called my insurance company directly and asked them if I qualified for a pump. They said yes and directed me to a website where I can choose which one I want and then enter my insurance policy number and information. They asked who my doctor was, but never even notified him for proof of pregnancy (I guess my charges to insurance from the OB were enough to prove pregnancy). I chose a Medela and it was completely free but I was given the option to buy discounted extra parts as well. I'd call your insurance and see what they say :)

Our insurance won't let us get our pump until the baby is born.....

I got the medela backpack one because I'm planning to get a shoulder strap type diaper bag and hope that hubby will carry the pump. Check with your insurance they should also cover 1-2 lactation consultant visits and you can have them talk you through it then. Good luck!
