can we drink protein shakes??

I just had a question.. is it safe for us to drink protein shakes.. obviously not ones for weight loss but I've been craving one super bad but I don't want to get anything until I'm sure and I don't see my doc until Jan 4th. Any insight would be awesome! Thanks.

This is a good question. I have a protein shake every morning....I've seen a nurse practitioner and she didn't say anything to me about stopping so I assume it's alright. Best to check with your doctor though.

I was told to watch the ingredients like any sort of synthetic things and stuff like that. It's better to get an organic one is what my OB mentioned to me. You also have to make sure to aren't giving yourself too many vitamins, with taking prenatals and with the vitamins in the shakes you may be doubling up on some and I'm sure which ones they are but they aren't good for baby to get too much of.

I use a prenatal protein powder. It's called baby booster. I was told to be careful of regular protein powders, as certain ingredients weren't great for us.

I was drinking at least two a day in my first trimester. I couldn't keep anything down. :( me and baby are perfectly healthy at 31 weeks now.
