Does walking up & down the stairs really help start labor?

I'm trying to get things moving with this baby, but I really want to know if it works first for sure because I can barely go up stairs without getting out of breath 😂. I already have an induction date for Jan.11 at 11pm, which is an hour before I'm 39wks. But I just want to make some progress at least...

Old wives take.  Everyone associates the onset of labor with the last thing they did, but it's just a coincidence.  There us nothing you can do or eat to speed things up.  Just gotta wait patiently until the baby is ready.

Why is your doctor inducing before 40 weeks? That's very uncommon these days and not recommended.

I worked on my feet when I was pregnant with my daughter. Walked roughly 5 miles a day at work, and walked my neighborhood up and down hills trying to get things going. I was induced at 39 weeks. I now have a desk job. Do walk some stairs at work and at home. Currently 34 and 5. We will see how it goes this time, but I was just in L&D Thursday for too many Braxton hicks. They medically stopped the contractions. 75% effaced and 1cm dilated. I would really like to go on my own this time.

You can try. For the record... With my middle child, I was a valet attendant. Up and down constantly, walking 6+ miles a day. By my scheduled C-section at 39 weeks.. I managed to not get anywhere but tired. No effacement...No dialation. Nothing. Just. More. Tired.

So, try it, but if it wears you out more... Then I would say screw it. Baby comes when baby wants to come.

Nope. The only thing that endures labor is pitocin and/or your baby deciding it's time to move on out.
