00 to 1/2 inch?

Getting ready to stretch my ears from 00 to 1/2 and was wondering if i could tape on silicone jewelry or if that would just compress the silicone instead of stretching my ear? Ive always used tapers so not sure how taping works. I have surgical steel jewelry but i wear the silicone for comfort most often so im hoping i can tape on them!! Let me know if youve done it and if it works!! :)
