Sugar test?

I have to take the sugar test which involves drinking, I have a strong gagging reflex. Which liquid is better? What's your opinion of this test? Any advice?

Mind over matter. If you start thinking about gagging you probably will but it's really not that gross (mine was orange flavored I wasn't given another option) and it was totally doable I know some people even like it. It's something you have to do for your unborn child though so if you keep that in your mind it might help, always does with me

If you like the soda Sprite pick the Lemon Lime Flavor 🍋 It taste EXACTLY like a flat sprite & if they have it cold that's even better 👍

I just did mine Friday. Didn't get a choice of flavor - got orange. Had 5 minutes to drink the bottle and then had to sit still and not drink or eat anything for an hour. The only thing they allowed me to do was go to the bathroom. This is the second time I've done the test and both times it was no big deal. If you go in expecting g the worst you will have a bad experience. Just tell yourself you will be fine and you will be.

The one hour glucose test was a piece of cake. The drink just tasted like flat orange soda and I was so hungry that it was a welcome snack 😂

Unfortunately, I failed it, so I had to take the 3 hour. Only made it 45 min before the fruit punch nightmare drink came back up. Now I'll have to do some other tests instead. The majority of women I know made it through fine. You'll probably do well.

I did the fruit punch and it wasn't as bad as I thought, they also gave me a cup for water to sip during the wait, helped get the sugar taste out

The glucose test isn't bad and the orange grin.is actually good. Keep.in mind if u have to take the 3hr like I did fasting 8hrs before is best. Or just do what your ob says. Good luck sweetie

I work for a lab and we let some of our patients do food alternatives! I'm not sure if your doctor will allow it but for 50 grams of glucose you could do a banana and 8oz grape juice!

I had fruit punch. It isn't horrible, it kind of just tastes like Alka seltzer in juice. I did get a bit nauseous and ended up throwing up when I got home. BUT keep in mind, if you throw up before they take your blood.. You have to drink it all over again lol that made me force myself to not get sick hahah
