not peak on OPK but EWCM!!??

Hi all! I tested cd 14 and got negative on my O test (clearblue digital brand--where the blinking smiley is high, static smiley is peak and circle is nothing)..,I started with a negative O test. The next day on cd 15 I got a blinking smiley, so high but not peak. And cd 16 I got the same blinking smiley...but cd 16 I had EWCM...could the test be wrong? I thought EWCM meant ovulation was basically happening right then?
