i'm 16 and i'm considering going on the pill. my periods are always late and it's been seriously stressing me out. and then when i do get my period my flow is super heavy and i get horrible cramps and headaches. my period usually lasts around 6-7 days. me and my boyfriend are also becoming more sexually active. we haven't actually had sex yet but we probably will soon and i want to be safe. i just want to know your guys' experiences with the pill and what are the chances of me getting pregnant while on it

As long as you take it correctly the chances are low that you would get pregnant. However, know that certain medications can counteract the pill, causing it to not work. When I was on the pill, my period went away completely, so that might be good for you!

The pill is a good choice if you're thinking about having sex. There are over forms of birth control out there too that are easier to take. Like an IUD or the depo shot. You don't have to think about those every day. Good luck.

I just recently went to the doctor for a physical exam and I was explaining how I have irregular periods and how I bleed really heavy .. then she was explaining to me the birth control she is on and was telling me about how it balances out her periods and creates a lighter flow with minimal cramps. I start the birth control January 15 and I'm hoping it works to help my periods ! I think you should consider talking to a parent or guardian about taking you for a physical exam. They will blood test and urine test you for diseases then consider the birth control for you! Good Luck !
