Your baby's age?

I asked a woman how old her son was and she said, "he's 37 weeks old." I said, "oh. 9 months, gotcha," then walked away. Really?  I am just curious to see how you ladies tell ppl how old your baby is? How do you do it? In weeks? In months? In years? I know people are different and have their own way of doing things, but that kind of threw me off.

I usually stick to months and half months.  It's either 1 month, 1 1/2 months, 8 months, etc.  THEN as they approach one year old (think 11 months old) I say "she will be one in January".  After one year old I say "she just turned one in January", as we approach 1 1/2 years old I say "she's almost 1 1/2".  Unless they ask her EXACT age then it's okay to generalize.  I CANNOT STAND WHEN PEOPLE USE MONTHS or weeks.  "She's 20 months old" or "she's 11 weeks old".  That irritates me so much.  I lose interest in the person as soon as they say something like that.

I always did it in weeks until they hit one month, then months until they hit one year, then years from that point on. Keeping track of weeks or months past a certain point just seems like a lot of work lol. I have a lot of friends that use months until they turn 2 years though.

It's generally weeks until one month and then months until 2 years old or 18 months old — depending on the mama. It's kinda the way baby clothes are sized as well.

I used weeks until my daughter was 12 weeks, then went to months until she was 24 months old and now use years/year and a half

Months or years. I think it's a bit silly to go by weeks. During pregnancy is one thing but once you have the baby and they're at least a month old go by months.
