Would you tell a friend/family member if they were becoming dangerously over weight?

I'm sure they are already well aware. No I would not say anything

No. Most likely they already know and it would just embarrass them. Also, it's easier than you think to be overweight. I'm 5'5, 150 lbs and considered overweight. I've also been considered obese before but haven't looked it.

Depends on the relationship. This is a very touchy subject for anyone. I wouldn't want anyone to tell me they thought I was too fat. You need to make sure you're coming across as a concerned friend/family member. If you decide to tell them you need to be supportive and if they push away or get upset, APOLOGIZE! At the end of the day it's going to be up to that person to make the change.

I did it tactfully.  I had just had a baby so i offered to purchase her a gym membership with mine so we could lose weight and get healthy together.  Then i would schedule a time for us to go together and give her healthy recipe advice.  
She stopped going after i moved away and has gained so much weight nobody could tell she was pregnant even a few days before she delivered.

Yes. I wouldn't word it exactly like that but I would tell them that I'm concerned for their health.

If it's someone I'm close to and we trust each other then probably yes I'd bring it up.

But you have to realize they may get mad. I think if you tell them don't criticize and don't be condescending.
