What are your opinions on cloth diapers?

I bought disposable diapers, but I was thinking about getting a few cloth diapers to see if I would like them when baby gets here. Do any of you mommas exclusively cloth diaper? How much laundry do you end up having to do?

I love my cloth but at 15 months had to switch to disposable because my babies thighs are too big, he is a big boy. I did laundry eveyother day because my bag was full. I have a little over 30 diapers. I love Kawaii diapers. Inexpensive but did the job. I also used disposable liners to help with messy diapers.

We've been using cloth diapers and cloth wipes exclusively now for over a year. The fb group Fluff Love & CD Sciece was extremely helpful in setting me up with a proper wash routine and answering all sorts of questions I've had. They also have a website:  Fluffloveumiversity.com. I highly recommend starting there. With my first we used disposables. She has very sensitive skin and broke out form nearly every brand. Ever since we started using cloth, the experience has truly been a breeze. I wash diapers twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter. I was really bad at keeping up with laundry before we introduced cloth, but since starting, it's only helped me find a better schedule. All cloth is, is litterally one extra load of laundry. That's it. We have not seen any increase in our water bill. We also use the same detergent for cloth we use for our clothes (tide original powder). My favorite part about cloth is that we have literally only had one blowout the entire time and that was because of user error. And when we go out, we don't need to worry about making sure there is a trash can around if therr isn't a public bathroom. As baby gets older, you may need to increase the absorbancy, but that's it. You don't need to buy so many every month or worry about running out. I work 40+ a week now (I did stay home for awhile) as does my fiance and it's still just as easy as it was when I was staying home. Sure it's a little more work than disposables, but nothing crazy.

We do cloth unless we are going out of town. I do a load of diapers every other day. I was trying to make it every three days but they got too smelly. It's a bit more work but not as much as everyone made it sound like. And so much cheaper!

I exclusively CDed for 1 1/2 years, then had to get disposables just for overnights. I had about 30 diapers to do laundry every third day. They are so easy. And SOOOO much cheaper. For all my cloth I spent about $400-for 1 1/2 years of diapering full time, and another year of daytime diapering. I agree to check out Fluff Love, they have lots of good info. You can also find great reviews and type comparisons on Pinterest.

I am so doing them!!! I heard though you should only need to do laundry every other day if you have a 24-diaper stash. I bought about 22 secondhand for $120. None have staining or smell, but maybe 3 are too worn for me to want to use. Look up videos or articles on cloth diaper myths! It will make you feel much better about it.

I read u need about 12 diapers per day. So if u want to do cloth u need at least 24 so u wash the 12 from the day before and have 12 for the day.
