please help!!!

Okay so i take birth control pills and I miscalculated. I will run out before i am able to get more pills. My health department only gives them out the first and third Friday of each month. So if i run out before i get more, when i do get more does the whole process stsrt over again? Meaning if its after my period i have to wait 7 days to be fully protected as much as birth control can do? I hope this makes sense
