Cervix thinned at 24 weeks

Hi all. I went into labor and delivery today due to non movement of baby. She decided to move when we got there. So I was only there for an hour. Anyways nurse checked cervix and said it was thin. Anyone else have this problem? As well should I be worried? This is my 4th pregnancy but I never made it to 40 weeks. And with 2nd child I had gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. He was delivered at 36 weeks. Last child was only 3 days early.
