A guy's perspective: Love & Abuse

J
Ok as stated in previous posts, I'm a 20 year old, British, Male and I apologise if you feel I have no place on an app aimed towards women, I simply try to provide my own opinion to show women that all guys are NOT the same. If you prefer to only read posts written by female writers then by all means, feel free.
I was having a conversation with another member of this group and it came to a topic I should speak on. Abuse.
There is absolutely no excuse for a man to lay hands on a woman. Whilst I believe it's ok to restrain a woman to stop her injuring herself or myself, there is a clear distinction between that and assault. Any man who beats a woman is not a man. He's a mockery to not only his gender but to the human race in its entirety.
If you're a woman, and a male lays hands on you... Leave. Just leave. The longer you let that behaviour continue the more frequent it will become. Whether you're scared to leave or afraid to be alone, the is nothing that means you should expose yourselves to that kind of behaviour. Being alone and safe is considerably better than the alternative.
No woman should be made to feel that it's ok for someone to abuse them. It's an insult to the countless women that gave their freedom and in many cases their lives to ensure no woman would be made to feel less worthy than a man. Those women looked out for your best interest regardless of cost to themselves, so why would you grant yourself anything less?
If you're in a situation like that, seek help. There are numerous organisations set up to assist women in those situations. Use them. Do NOT under any circumstances, suffer in silence. You might not live to regret it.
Also, to challenge a popular yet unfounded viewpoint, seeking help and talking about your situation does not make you weak. Showing that your have control over your life and how people in it treat you is the strongest position a person can be in. It's a common situation and more women experience it than you think, and in every situation, silence is their enemy.
There are decent men out there, you don't need to settle
