Is c section the same has normal surgery?

I know I just posted this but I have no health problems of anything and I don't won't no heart attack during the c section. This is my first pregnancy and I'm very very scared since I can't have a vaginal birth since I had mymectomy surgery last year. People who has had c section have said c sections is a piece of cake but when you hear about someone died during the c section or three days later due to infection or something. It worries me! I just want somebody to keep my mind at peace.
