Any military spouses out there?

My navy man left for his first deployment today. I'm wanting to make him a really nice care package. c:

For those military spouses or for those who served and received care packages, what was good to include in one? I plan to make him cookies, send gum, jerky - what was a favorite that your significant other/you received? c:

I would love any suggestions/advice!

Pictures he can hold!!! With captions on the back💜 my husband(active army) loved receiving pictures of our son and our families. 
Chapstick as well! You'd be surprised how hard it can be to come across

Make sure anything you make is cooled off and sealed/packed very tight.   I made brownies and they made it over to Afghanistan, but red velvet cupcakes got molded, so stuff that has very little ingredients.

Sending stupid dollar store toys- i.e. Silly string, football, etc will help them on their off days and have them give something to the local kids or newly arriving military members.

Depending on where and what your SO will be doing, if he's carrying a gun in the desert, send some condoms to help prevent sand from getting in the gun and messing it up so much.

Letters, phone cards(once again depending on where your SO is at)and pictures are always a good go to as well.

If you send any items i.e.-body wash, toothpaste, sunscreen; make sure they're in  2/3 ziplock bags just in case of an accident.

Oh and always remember don't send anything that you don't want to risk someone else seeing because care packages are "hot cakes" and everyone will want to know what got sent and if it can be shared.lol

I asked my husband what his favorites were during this last deployment and his top two were peanut butter-filled pretzels (bite-sized) and the Zipfizz Powdered drink mix (both are at Costco). He also said he really looked forward to the photos of home and letter I would send in each package.

I always sent my hubby plenty of hot chocolate, granola bars, Gatorade chews, protein powder, and lots of homemade goodies !
