menstrual cups?

I see so many people preach about menstrual cups and make some very convincing arguments about it. I want to use one but my concerns won't allow me. How to you guys avoid spilling when you're pulling it out to dump it? How can you clean it after dumping it in a public restroom? I can imagine myself spilling blood every where or trying to clean the cup and another woman side eyeing me.

When I take mine out I do it while I'm sitting on the toilet so if it spills it spills in the toilet which is where I pour the menstrul blood anyways. Also if I need to reinsert my cup when I'm in a public restroom I simply wipe it out with toilet paper then when I get somewhere that it more private I wash it out in the sink.

I just take it out slowly and it's never spilled as clumsy as I am. And you shouldn't need to take it out in a public restroom as you can leave it in for 12 hours. At the end of my 8 hour shift it was only half full and I usually with pads and tampons am a very heavy bleeder.

Mine has never spilled from taking it out, because you pull it down and out. One time I was having an unusually heavy flow and waited to long to empty it, and blood dripped from me after I pulled the cup out. If you are concerned, just do it over the toilet bowl.

As for cleaning in public spaces...I usually always just wait till I'm in a restroom with a private sink. I usually only empty it in the mornings and then before bed when I'm using it. On the occasions where I need to empty it in a public stall, I just dump it, wipe off the excess, and put it back in.

Figuring out the correct placement was AWFUL for the first few months trying my diva cup for the first time, but you DO eventually figure out your body and what the best positioning "feels" like. Don't give up! I love my cup!

Menstrual cups really are EVERYTHING! They're so beneficial. But yeah, it takes practice. I've never spilled mine.

Also, I kind of time how long I have it in, but I did the same while I used tampons. I've never had to wash it in public. I pour it out, clean, and reinsert it right before I'm heading out and I'm always good. You can keep it in for 12+ hours as long as it's not full. Some women carry around a bottle of water to wash it out with as well.
