Odd mom out

heather

I tried taking my LO to a baby meet up in town for infants under a year. It was a disaster 😁

She has always been bottle fed because she was in the nicu when she was born and had to have regulated amounts of breast milk. No more no less per feeding. Due to hypoglycemia and bad reflux. She was a month early. Then she developed a allergy to milk proteins forcing us to put her on a special formula. As I had already gone back to work full-time and my milk was not plentiful as it used to be.

These ladies were so up there on butts. How dare I not try to breast feed when she came home. How dare I not take off work to purge my diet of milk products to my baby can have breast milk.

Honestly I wanted to be 100% sure she was getting the oz recommend when she got home. Bonus daddy could take a night shift!. No having to transition to bottles when I did have to go back to work SCORE!

Secondly for the formula. I didn't want to see her in pain anymore. She would curl up and sleep all day then purple face cry/ scream for hours at a time. She wasn't developing because she was in pain. I could eliminate dairy products but my supply was drying up and I wouldn't be able to make enough to support her.

They all had there opinions and they expressed them.

From her need for glasses to her slower development due to her being early and her birth the three therapist.

Needless to say we won't be going back.

Not every mom can stay home. Not every baby is the same. Some need more specialized care. It doesn't mean that they are bad mommies and bad babies. It would be bad if I didn't get my baby the help she needs. By one year old she will be just as capable and smart as any of those kids. All of her issues are not something that could have been a result of something that I did or didn't due durring pregnancy. They are things that just happen to some babies. Glasses, allergies and reflux.
