Do you get along with your boyfriends/husband's mom?

How do you ladies get along with your guy's mother? Are you close to her or is there conflict? There's so much conflict between my boyfriend's mom and I. We are so different and I'm afraid she's going to sabotage our relationship.

We get along, but do I personally like and respect her? Nope, and I probably never will. She's put everything in her life and business before her son, including living in a car with him for a few months so she could put all her money in the business. She's also a scientologist, which has only torn them further apart. That's not even the tip of the iceberg. It so very hard to watch a grown man cry and hear the things he says because it's very obvious all he wants is to feel like a priority in his moms eyes and have her be proud of him. ☹️

Genuinely close friends with my boyfriend's mother. She gives me tips on cooking/baking all the time and I know I can talk to her about anything. 😊

My fiances mom has a tumor. I never got to know her because she's had the tumor way before we were even together. Now she's just out of it all the time..kinda hard to understand her words. She just got surgery again and can't walk.

I used to get along with her just fine, until we had children. She feels like she can do what she wants with my children, I am not that kind of daughter in law. My own parents have had to be set straight a time or two, but they backed off her not so much.

I got along amazingly with my boyfriend mother. She's like one of my best friends. She's seen my boobs, we've talked about sex, our problems, everything! She's so sweet and loving with the perfect amount of craziness lol. I feel bad for anyone who isn't close to their SOs mother. But know that it is also okay if you don't! My sister and her bfs mom can't stand each other but she isn't going to let that get in the way of her relationship.

You can't please everyone. My mother hates anyone I date. NO man is good enough and there is no pleasing her so why bother trying. I seen him separate from her. I don't invite him over to family events etc. I see him on my own time away from her. She does nothing but talk crap about him. She's got separation anxiety and pretty much in her husband. So of course she doesn't want anyone taking me away. I just learned not to give a darn to anything she says or. BElittles me or him. She treats me like crap especially when she doesn't get her way. And is dilusional that we are best friends. I tolerate her. And we fight all the time. As for my guy and his family. Everyone loves me all my exs moms wish I was their kid and wish I would have married their kid just so I would have been their daughter. I would avoid her if you can. Otherwise it's kill her with kindness. Be nice and smile but have as little to do with  her as possible.

Loveee my mother in law. I have the most selfish family, im not close to them at all, and its so nice to see that not everyone is like that. Ive never felt more like family to anyone than I do with my in laws.
