my boyfriend has molluscum 😢

So my boyfriend has had molluscum for about 3 months and we haven't had sex at all in that time. I'm really getting to the point where I want to have sex with him again. He's got medication and supplements to help build his immune system. I just don't know what to do. The infection doesn't seem to be leaving and we don't know when it will. I just read it can stay for up to 2 years! I can't go without sex for that long. At the same time I am being very supportive and kind and loving. But there's not much I can do. Sometimes I think he feels so overwhelmed by it that he doesn't focus enough on taking the medications he needs. Has anyone else gone through this? I would really like some insight, help and empathy 😢
