sign of infection ?

Hi guys !! Okay maybe this isn't super important but I want your opinions! I got my belly pierced on Saturday and ofc the guy said it would be sore for a couple of days so idk if it's normal or not. It's been hurting but it's like a sting type of pain and it's also a bit red . I believe it can be irritated but I've used the soap they recommended so it wouldnt get dry and it would get clean. My mom is telling me to use triple antibiotic ointment, but I heard online that it's bad ? Idk give me some advice or ur opinions please !!
