Will she come early?

Last night my little Ella dropped, I don't feel a huge relief, but she's definitely much lower than she was before. I've been having mucus discharge for several weeks, but nothing too much or blood tinged. There's also been a lot of stabbing pains down in my pelvic area.. Anyone think she will be arriving soon or just normal part of the process this far along? Also, what are contractions like? Are they entirely different from these unbearably painful stabbing pains?
