How long can a baby's cough last without concern?

My LO is 8 months old and his cough has now lasted for a little over one week and is still going strong. He was seen last Thursday by his doctor and everything sounded good but I forgot to ask how long this can last normally without it being a cause for concern. No fever but still coughing, mucus and very congested/runny nose. How long can something like this last before I should call the doctor again?

7-10 days I'd be going back. It's our job to be "annoying" we have to make sure our kids are okay. Only we know them best 💜

Yeah I'm following because my son has been really congested no cough though.  It really bothered him last night I tried to keep him elevated to sleep better but he was really annoyed by it.

Mine has been sick since a little over a week and a half ago and he is just now getting over most of it. Just watch for a fever which is anything over 100.4 in babies.

My son is 8 months old and also going through this. Cough and congested nose. The cough is so horrible 😣 going to try and see a Dr today. Feel so sorry for the little guy. He's his happy energetic self though which is good!

My little one is only 7 weeks. He has been congested and has a cough her and there. The pediatrician said an upper respiratory/cold can last 2 weeks in babies.  She said to monitor and make sure there is no temp. I have been using a humidifier and also saline nose drops and turning the shower on letting the room steam up and sitting in there for 10-15 mins. Also if you breastfeed or have any breastmilk - I put a few drops in my little ones nose and it helped :)
