help?! breastfeeding and pacifier ?

First time breastfeeding and my son seems to drink enough milk but then continues sucking as to soothe himself back to sleep but ends up drinking to much and spitting it all back up. I read not to introduce a pacifier until after 3/4 weeks when he has gotten used to my nipple. Anyone introduced a pacifier from the start ? How was it ?

We started a paci at day 1 and breastfed with no issue. I didn't want him getting used to the boob for soothing.

A lot of people introduce pacifier from day one and breastfeed, I tried but my daughter never took a pacifier but my twin sister just had a baby a week ago and her daughter always wants one but also nursed great.

I only gave it to mine at night or in public to soothe her. she had it from the start in the NICU and I wasn't gunna argue with her

I'm planning to introduce it once breastfeeding is established.
Nipple confusion is real but I feel baby will recognize that there is nothing coming out of the pacifier.
I introduced it late with my son. He'd suck once or twice and realize that nothing is coming out so he'd spit it out and screem bloody murder. After a few times, he'd recognize it whenever we tried to give it to him and he stoped even opening his mouth. He got his first bottle with breastmilk at 2 weeks and had no issues switching (only he wouldn't take the bottle from me)

I breast fed and gave pacifier from day one (he's 4mo now) he has no problem and actually prefers his fingers lol

Day one with my daughter and she never had issues going between both.  Exclusively Bf for the first 6 months.

My sister made the mistake of introducing one too soon and her daughter ended up with nipple confusion and they went from being totally fine to having to deal with it and see a lactation consultant lol.
