What birth control?

Okay so my postpartum appointment is in a little over a week and I have no clue as to what birth control I should get. Before my 2 pregnancies I had the Mirena for 5 years and that didn't go so well. It would hurt me and when it was removed I  found out that one of the wings was damaged and bent so that is completely off my list. What BC do you ladies think is good.? I do have a problem with BC making me gain weight so I want something that won't cause that. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you!

If you don't like hormones or anything like that, I highly recommend reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".  It teaches you about your body and it's rhythm/window of natural fertility.  My husband and I used it exclusively as our family planning method for 7 years and, literally, the 2 times we were open to pregnancy were the 2 times we conceived.  We love having that understanding of our times to conceive and making the decision to proceed or not.

My husband and I were talking about this recently...I have no idea what I'll do. I hate the pill, I always have some sort of negative hormonal reaction to it, we've never used condoms, don't want an IUD or the shot...so  I guess the pull out method? I struggled to get pregnant before this baby (our first) so that was always 'birth control', but now that's not a guarantee lol!

Ok so i was way against getting the IUD but after a talk with the ob that delivered my baby, I am glad I got it. You only hear the bad. No one wants to talk about the good, because the good isn't interesting and everyone loves complaining about products more than praising them. Its just basic consumerism. But, the real facts are that the IUD is the most effective burth control out there. I got the mirena when when i gave birth, and i love it so far. Again, i hated the idea of getting it before. The chances of it embedding are slim, its effective for up to 5 years, and you're good to go to try again the very day you get it removed. Periods are lighter to nonexistent once your body gets used to it, which is usually 2-6 months, just like any other birth control. You don't have to think about it, set a schedule, or make appointments every few months qith the mirena. 
The implant is good if you are concerned with ovarian cysts. It is less effective than the mirena, but more than the pill. Again, you don't have to stick to a schedule with the implant. You'll still have a peruod, but it should be lighter and less painful because it is good with controlling the hormones that cause the cysts.
The shot and the pill are both only 98% effecive, and only if you use them on the exact schedule and take them at the exact time you're suppose to. They make different formulas according to your needs (ie cysts, pregnancy prevention, flow, etc.) for both.
They also have spermicidal lube which is not always effective and is always recommended to use alongside a different type of contraception. Condoms are always effective and safe if you are looking to avoid pregnancy. They make both male AND femal condoms. And while the pull out method sounds nice enough, always remember that he cannot always feel when he has precum, and pre DOES contain some sperm. 
Just some things to think about. Personally, I love the mirena. I don't regret it one bit.
