What items did you bring during labor that saved you? ❤

What are some things you brought with you that was a life saver for you during and after labor? And do you other mothers have suggestions on what I can bring for myself I'm due in 5weeks and the advice would definitely help thanks 😊❤

Music. I literally can only remember Duran Duran playing "Hungry Like The Wolf" (don't judge 😂). It helps with taking your mind off of everything else.

Everything I ended up NEEDING was provided by the hospital but I did bring a electric heat pad "just in case" because I thought it would help with labor  (it didn't) but it DID relieve my lower back pain after labor from the uncomfortable hospital bed and trying to adjust to breastfeeding a newborn.

I always bring post delivery snacks. The hospital food isn't always the best & you get very hungry after working so hard & you need good food for nursing (if you decide to do that).  I usually pack granola bars, nuts, apples, & other high fiber food to help with using the bathroom (labor can cause everything to slow way down).  Gum, mints, & lip balm (eos sweet mint is my favorite) are all helpful during labor & post delivery. There are some great pins on Pinterest for what to pack & there is a list on this app. Good luck!

I've been watching YouTube videos. But instead of searching just "what to pack in my hospital bag" try searching "what to pack in my hospital bag baby#2" or 3 or whatever. Do notttt listen to the videos from first time moms, they (we) all packed way too much the first time. This is my second time, and I'm determined to pack lightly.

I didn't need anything during labor and delivery except a hair tie and my toothbrush/paste. I labored over night and didn't get to brush my teeth before "bed" (even though I didn't sleep) so by 7am, I felt like I needed to brush. My nurse gave me a cup of water so I could do it in bed bc of the epidural 😂 afterwards I didn't have anything special and won't be packing anything apecial this time. Just normal toiletries and clothes. I'm not taking my own pillow or blanket or towels like last time bc it's two nights and I'll survive without. It's not worth the hassle of carrying it all in and back out again. Just be sure to find out if your hospital supplies lanolin if you're breastfeeding, bc you'll want your own if they don't. And also ask if they have regular baby wipes or the dry wipes you have to wet in the sink. Those are annoying, so I brought my own last time and will this time as well.
