Anyone else using a pack n play with bassinet attachment instead of a crib?

Just curious if anyone else is using a pack n play with a bassinet attachment or just a regular pack n play instead of a crib? My family's making it seems like I'm just being cheap and should get a crib or regular bassinet for him to sleep in from day one. I'll be getting him a crib when he grows out of the bassinet attachment, plus I can still use the pack n play for when we're not home. They also make it seem like I'm wrong for him not having a nursery. I have a spare bedroom but I don't see the point in doing a nursery when he's going to be in my room until atleast 6 months? When it's time for him to have his owm room I can easily make him one in the spare room. Am I in the wrong here? Like, a lot of stuff just seems unecessary (atleast for me.) Its not like he's going to care. I dunno, thoughts?

Also using a pack n play instead of a crib. We did buy a mattress for the pack n play so baby is safe and comfy. I think you are doing what makes the most sense for you which is what matters.

I completely agree with you! First off it's safer to have your baby in the room with you! It's more convenient cuz you'll be up all night anyway, especially to feed, I'm gonna set a nursery but not go all out! I'm not getting a crib for awhile! I'm just gonna get those halo swivel bassinets or something like what you wanna get!

I bought a crib, then read it's best to have baby sleep in your room for the first so many months. Now I'm looking for a bassinet or something smaller that will fit in our room. Do the P&P or bassinet first. Even if you decide later you want a crib, you don't need it right away anyway. See how the other works out

We are. I'm due in May but we are moving in april. So I won't have time to set up a baby room until after baby gets here. So until then my baby will sleep in a hand me down pack and play

We only have a spare bedroom and will use that for the grandmas when they come visit. We have been given a crib so that fits in there, but I'm not going to specially decorate it as her nursery. I will also get a packnplay for the first 6 months or so to have in my room. Nurserys are cute, but it is just the two of us in a tiny house that we love and don't believe in needing a full separate bedroom just yet for our little one. We are also converting our desk to use as a diaper changing table. No need to buy all new things! Our LO will be spoiled in so many other ways.

I'm doing the same exact thing lol ..and I have 2 rooms that could be nursery but don't see the point because for example my sister is gonna be 3 amd still sleeps in my parents room lol so I don't see the point of wasting money.. So ill just but a crib when my baby gets toddler size .

I'm putting a pack n play with bassinet attachment next to my side of the bed so he's in arms reach for the first 6 months. After that I will get a crib. My grandma wanted to get me a bassinet too but it will just take up space and he will only fit in it for a couple months. Plus the pack n play is portable. It just seems all around easier

I used a pack n play with newborn napper and bassinet instead of a crib with my first and plan to use the same one with my second. My first used it to sleep in until she was about 1.5 and then we put her in a toddler bed. She slept better in the pack n play then anything else we have put her in.

I bought both. I'll use the pack and play while she's in my room but I eventually want to move her in her crib. I don't know why I wouldn't want her in the pack in play bassinet  in her own room. Maybe I'm just a picky momma!
