👋 need some lady glow advice!

Is a midwife important to have? What did you like about having one? Would you recommend?

I have had two OBGYNs, and a midwife. I would choose the midwife every time. My first OBGYN was nice through my pregnancy, but was very basic and never explained anything. She scheduled me for an unnecessary induction, overdosed my pitocin, caused me to have an unnecessary ceserean. Switched to a male OBGYN for my second child. Had to fight to get my VBAC and he barely came to the hospital to deliver my son, because it was his "day off." He subsequently sexually assaulted me shortly after birth.

I've had a midwife for my last two children, and current pregnancy. She is very personal, connected with me about my pregnancies, my losses, wants me to bring my kids to my appointments, is gentle, treats pregnancy as a natural occurrence and not a medical condition. There are no unnecessary tests or interventions. No extra ultrasounds, I've only had one, all measurements in the third trimester are by hand. No dilation checks until 40+ weeks. She lets pregnancy and labor happen without unneeded interruption.

Answer

I use an OBG instead of midwife. I have a great relationship w her and she is amazing. So I would recommend an OBG instead of midwife based solely on my experience.
