Delivery... husband... stepdaughter. Help!
Here's the info before I get to the story.
My husband and I live 10 minutes from a bridge.
Turn right from the bridge, and my stepdaughter lives 30 minutes away with her mom.
Turn left from the bridge, and my high risk hospital I'll be delivering at is an hour and 30 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes away.
My stepdaughter is three and excited about her baby sister. She can't wait to meet her.
My husband said when I go into labor, he wants to go pick up my stepdaughter and take her to the hospital with us.
I told him that idea is stupid. We live too far away to go an hour out of the way to pick her up. I told him I could go into labor at 3 AM. I told him I could be in labor for days.
His response was, "you won't be in labor for days. They know when you're gonna have your baby."
And I'm like "no they don't. I could be in labor for a long time."
He said, "yeah cause you've have so many more babies than me." (This is my first baby.)
I told him that just because that's how it went with his ex-girlfriend, who had no complications and wasn't high risk, isn't how it's going to go with me.
I told him to wait until I give birth to go get my stepdaughter and then let her meet her sister. She doesn't need to be there while I'm in labor. He's driving me insane about it. He doesn't see it my way because he thinks labor will be quick like his ex-girlfriend's. 🙄
Help me talk sense into this man.
