Nexplanon???

Question

I have been on the Depo shot but I'm not the same person. So I am trying to decide what I should get on. My doctor suggested Nexplanon. Any suggestions? Pros and cons? Anything helps! Thanks!

I've only had the Neoplanon for 2 weeks, so here's my experience thus far. Insertion wasn't bad. I had a reaction to the iodine they used to clean my skin with which caused alot of itching and blisters at the Insertion site however we took off the steristrips & cleaned it good then put on a bandaid. Bruising and pain was there for about a week but pain wasn't noticeable unless I touched it or pressed on it somehow (breastfeeding my 6 week old was hard to do during this time since I used my arm as support). I had some spotting which has now turned into a very light period. So far no weight gain/irritability/headaches/nausea that I've had with previous birthcontrol.

Fortunately, the depo treated me the same way my implant has. Other than the mood swings. I did not gain any weight when I was on the depo and I'm on my second implant already and I've remained about the same weight since I've had the implant. I had mood swings and crazy emotions when I was on the depo but after a couple of weeks of having the implant, I was fine. But it's different for everyone. I am one of the fortunate people that the implant did not cause me to bleed for a long time when I got it. I do not have a period but about every 3-4 months and when I do, it's not that bad. They do tend to last a while longer than a "normal" cycle. But I'm very happy with my implant. Don't plan on having anything else until I decide to have babies!

I just had mine removed after a year and a half of bleeding bad every day. I gained weight, my mood was awful and my sex drive got so so bad! Worst thing I ever did :(
A lot of ladies have good experiences and no problems at all though, just so you know!

I just had my nexplanon inserted about three weeks ago for the first time. The first week was a bit painful - my arm had a bit of bruising and I couldn't do certain arm movement bc it hurt. But now it's pretty much healed and I haven't had any issues. I spotted once since I got it. No pain or discomfort. My boyfriend gets a little freaked out by it when he touches it lol

I've had it for one and a half years and I have my period more than I don't. Mostly it's just a lot of spotting. My acne has worsened and I have gained about twenty pounds since the insertion. I'm not saying it was all due to the implant but I am considering getting it removed
