I've noticed a ton of ladies post about nipple piercings and if is women who have them think they're painful. There is no way of us telling you if it will be painful for you or not, it's different for everyone. A little bit of information about nipple piercings are:
-they are extremely sensitive piercings, they get caught onto everything (wash cloths, shirts, bras). I cannot warn you ladies enough to be cautious, I've ripped one completely out of my nipple. Barbells have no give to them since they screwed in for good.
-you clean them like any other piercing, sea salt solution or peppermint oil. You clean them 2-3 times a day. You'll develop a yellow crust around them, don't pick at this during healing
-refrain from any sexual contact (sucking) for 6-8 weeks, they WILL get infected if you do so.
-any size or shape nipple can get pierced, inverted or not. Though piercing them may not fix the fact they are inverted.
-during piercing, one nipple is going to hurt more than the other, it's due to adrenaline going down. So please eat before hand to prevent fainting or dizziness
- yes you can breast feed with them, you can simply take them out or buy nipple covers (they look like a baby bottle nipple)
-yes you can change the bars to rings or any pretty jewelry you want after they heal. The balls on the barbells should meet at the sides of your nipples when they are soft. SIZE IS IMPORTANT! Make sure you are in a comfortable size barbell because nipples swell during mensural cycles and the balls can cut off circulation/ dig into your skin.
-avoid buying jewelry online buy unknown sellers. Many online sellers sell metals dipped with mercury or lead. You want Surgical grade only, especially when breast feeding.
Nipple piercings are worth it, and pretty to have. But please do your research they are much more than just a pretty jewelry on your body.
