Best Birth Control Option for irregular periods??

I have been on progesterone at the end of the month for 10 days to help my horrible irregular periods. For example from the 20-30th i will take one 10mg pill of progesterone every day until the 30th. Then i will start my period around the 4th of the next month and it lasts for 4 days. It is HEAVEN for someone that use to bleed for 100+ days straight or not bleed for 100+ days straight. Well this isnt a form of BC and i recently started seeing this guy and now i need to look at my options. Any advice? Ive been on the pill before but i had/have high blood pressure so they took me off the one with estrogen. Then i took a progesterone only pill every day and i bled between periods which was probably my body adjusting. But i was impatient. We both hate condoms.
