Nexplanon removal maybe?

I have an appointment at planned parenthood for my birth control. Got nexplanon in April of 2016, been 10 months since then & I still have a non stopping period. The most I've went without seeing any blood is 6 days, which is quite ridiculous considering the fact I've been on it this long I would think it would have settled by now. The periods aren't light either, very heavy, with huge blood clots, & cramps. I know some women had the same problem & they were given a pill to help stop the bleeding? I was wondering what pill is that? How long does it take to happen? Was it ineffective for anyone? Were you scheduled to stop taking them & did the blood come back? I'm pretty much desperate right now, I want to prevent pregnancys but I still want to be able to enjoy my sex life.
