do you go by your last period or dating scan?

Just curious as to what people's opinions are on this if they don't add up even though you have regular periods?

Always go off the dating scan. Going off your lmp is just an estimate until a dating scan can be done to measure how far along the baby is.

Dating scan because I'm lmp-based due date is today and I'm really only 36 weeks.

My drs went with dating scans this time around because i had a miscarriage and never had a period before getting pregnant..... they did say they were most accurate.

Mine goes by lmp. My first dating scan put baby a week later then the lmp (which would be correct since I o late!). But baby is measuring 4-5 weeks ahead so... but DR is sticking to lmp unless my weekly BPP's continue to show a huge gap!

The dating scan can be wrong unless you get in there early. I had mine at 11 weeks they told me i was 13+5 but i knew i was 11 bc i knew the day i got pregant. My dr went  with the dating scan but i go by the date i know is correct.

I take temp and watch cervical fluid so when I conceive, I will KNOW when I ovulated, and therefore, how far along I am. That being said though, term is considered anywhere from 38-42 weeks so... and my mom swears 41 is normal for first timers. (She worked in a labour and delivery room as a nurse for quite a while)

My OB said she goes by LMP unless the scan is off by 2 weeks. She says they are all estimates anyway and baby decides when they want to come as 50% of women will go over their EDDs.
My scan was 4 days later than my LMP and I know I ovulated 4 days later so it fits but I'd rather count down to 45 days than 49 days so I'm sticking to that 😂 but I won't be in a hurry to get her out if she wants to stay 50 more days and my OB is on the same page. She said we don't talk into induction until 41 weeks unless there is a medical need.

My dating scan and my last period were only off by a day. If I hobby my last period my due date is February 22nd if I go by the dating scan it's February 23rd.
