Anyone being very minimal with baby items?

In about two years we'll be renting out our current property and buying a bigger one in the city.
Our current flat is only one bedroom but it's spacious and very nice. By the time our baby is born, we will have about a year and a half left until we move so we're fine making due here (also, we save a lot of money because our mortgage is so low). ANYWAY.
I'm getting a very nice cosleeper from mamas & papas which can also be used as a travel cot. I have worked out clothing storage for the baby things in a really crafty way. We have a dresser that has a top suitable to make in to a changing table. I have a woven wrap and an Ergo as I'll be babyweating a lot when they're young. We'll buy one small fold up stroller for when they are bigger on the rare occasion we'll need one. We'll get a few other small things (a plan at for tummy time, stuff like that) but I find most of the stuff I see in shops rather unnecessary (a lot of relatives and friends have told me how much clutter they had accumulated for the baby that was rarely used).
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of being very minimalistic while still here. Once we move, I'll decorate our child's room and the lot but I'm just not finding it all that necessary when they are so young.
Anyone else taking this approach?
