Antidepressants and birth control pills?

I'm currently on Citalopram(Lexapro) and I'm planning to start using BC pills for the first time. My anxiety is at its highest when I'm in college. I was wondering if any of you guys are taking the same medication as me? Or any type of antidepressant while on birth control? Is BC pills still as effective and vise versa? Sorry for so many questions lol.

The only antidepressant I can think of that interfere's with the effectiveness of hormonal birth control is the herbal otc supplement St. John's Wort. Be aware that it also can come in the form of herbal teas (like bedtime teas) too.

Other antidepressants don't affect effectiveness though. I will say this though- I used to be on lexapro and it murdered my sex drive for the entire time i was on it. Effexor frustrated me but was mostly counteracted by being medicated for my ADHD though. I'm on Wellbutrin and remeron now and don't have that issue anymore though.

I know there is a birth control pill called Dianna I think... Something like that and it also has some chemicals as most antidepressants so instead of taking both just take the Dianna pill

Citalopram is generic for celexa. Not Lexapro, which generic is ecitalopram

I'm taking mini pill and just started bupropion antidepressant. It does not effect my birth control pill
