Gender accidentally revealed?

Question

Has anyone ever NOT wanted to know the sex of their baby only to find out accidentally from an ultrasound? I'm super worried that I will accidentally see something that I don't want to see during an ultrasound 🙈 but I also don't want to NOT look at the monitor and miss seeing my baby

Tell the tech to tell you to close your eyes when they scan the private parts. That's what they did with my first.

I didn't want to find out when I was pregnant with my second because I didn't find out when I was pregnant with my first. I had a large ovarian cyst that my daughter kept an eye on and one day I was in her office with a portable ultrasound at 12 weeks. I never thought to tell her that we didn't want to know because it was a portable and it was way early. Anyway, she was on the phone at the same time and she looks down at me, smiles and says, "Looks like you'll be having a boy." Total surprise killer.

I was worried about this. If you tell the tech before you start she wont look down there without asking you to turn away ( my tech never checked at all). The only issue would be if baby is flashing the screen the moment the probe goes on your stomach

You tell them. Then they tell you when they are going to look and tell you to look away.

This is my third and we have never wanted to find out ahead of time. I just make sure that I tell the ultrasound tech at every ultrasound (I have had gestational diabetes with each pregnancy so I get quite a few towards the end) that we don't want to know. She has always turned the screen or warned us to look away when she got anywhere near the potty shot region. And I make sure during the anatomy scan visit I let my doctor know we are not finding out the gender so he doesn't accidentally slip up during the appointment.
