Crazy, beautiful ride

Nichole
I posted about my birth technically and it was actually wonderful! Sorry this is going to get long. My labor wasn't all that bad considering you know I'm pushing a kid out my vagina. I was dilated at a 3 and I wanted a whirlpool bath as soon as I sat in the water my contractions got so intense I looked at my husband and said I can't do it the pain is unbearable I didn't think that I was going to bates able to get out of the tub. We were going to try a drug free delivery and my husband said if I felt I needed meds go for it it's my body and I was the one going through the pain. They came in to start my iv fluid for my epidural. I had the natural urge to push and I told my nurse who told me that you can't push your only at a 3. After telling her 3 more times she decided to check me again and I was complete this all happened in 45 minutes she had to run out and call my doctor. She kept telling me not to push and that was the worst pain trying to fight nature! My doctor came flying in the room I didn't see her come in because I was clutching my bed rail as soon as she came in she rubbed my legs and said I'm here I flipped over so fast. She broke my water and we pushed for 4 minutes and then our beautiful princess Aurora was here and perfect. Later that night she started looking funny colored but just a hint of orange I guess you could say and she started shaking so they kept checking blood sugar and she was normal and she was breastfeeding great. She did stop eating later but we thought that she was just really sleepy because she'd eat just not as much. When they took her to do her hearing test and blood work they discovered that she had jaundice and her levels where pretty high. Also when they were trying to get blood it was really thick she is now being tested for her dad's blood disorder spyrosytosis. My doctor said she was not comfortable treating her at our small town hospital because of the blood disorder. So they sent us to nicu I'm so thankful that she sent her because she wanted her to get the proper care. We are on full day 2 of nicu and being under the lights and her levels were good enough to not have to have all 3 so she is down to 2 so we hope to keep up the progress so I can hold her again!!!!
