are you still rocking your 10 month old to sleep?

My daughter doesn't even sleep in her bed, it's been co-sleeping since she was 4 months old and I'm not exactly sure how to start transitioning her.

We just moved her crib into our room instead of her own room so it might make the transition easier. Only time she sleeps without rocking is if I nurse her to sleep but sometimes I'll be rocking her to sleep for up to an hour!

I know, very bad habits to get into but cosleeping and nursing is so nice I couldn't help it!

She needs to learn how to sleep independently. Start with nighttime because the sleep drive is stronger than naps. Once you have sleeping at night down then tackle daytime sleep. You need to break the nurse/rock to sleep association. The nursing needs to be moved to 30 minutes before bedtime and being placed into crib. She needs to be going down completely awake. Not drowsy; awake. After that I would not respond to night wakings for feedings for the first 5 hours to make sure the suck to sleep association is not there. It's going to be hard but consistency is the key. I cannot stress consistency enough since she's getting older.

I have zero tips just want to say we are in the same boat over here! She actually won't fall asleep unless she's pulling my hair and if I get her into the crib she's up screaming within an hour. Hang in there!

Does she nap in her crib? Maybe start to work on nap times and once she gets that, you can work on nighttime. Try rocking her for a few mins and put her down awake. Then you can either have her cry or you can try comforting her while she's in her crib. Maybe try to pair a lovey/something comforting for her, with her crib. I personally believe in crying it out, but know it's not for everyone...only do what you're comfortable with. Remember, by the time she goes to high school, she will not be sleeping in your bed :)
