what makes you roll your eyes?

Question

As a new mom, people, whether you know them or not, LOVE to tell you what to do with your child. What are some things you've been told that make you roll your eyes?

Example: My boyfriend's mother tells me all the time I need to peirce my daughter's ears. (which no offense to moms that do. your baby do what you what you want. but I personally don't want to) and she brings it up probably monthly. 😒

I'm not due until June, but I get told "It's going to be so hard raising a child" Like.....

I was told that I probably wasn't producing milk yet, only colostrum despite the fact that they're my tits and I can tell when something changes and despite that a lactation consultant confirmed it was milk. Also told by the same person that there was nothing I could take to help produce breastmilk even though I was taking fenugreek for that purpose and had done research on it. Then all the sudden she had heard of it and it didn't work for her. Not to mention these same people tried to get my fiancé to bring my baby over when he was three weeks old even though their kids had the flu. Then apparently today she told my fiancé that my son isn't a healthy weight. He's 10 lbs and she said he should be 12-15 lbs. He's a freaking month old and weighed 7.12 at birth. Just because you've had kids doesn't make you an expert. Glad I don't have any direct contact with these people, but I was pretty close to snatching the phone out of my fiancés hand when they tried to have my baby come over there near kids that had the flu. 😠

People keep telling me not to hold my baby so much... seriously people he's 18 days old! He still very much needs me!

I also want to go back to work in two weeks. My husband and I were lucky enough to get opposite schedules so we don't need a sitter. But everyone keeps telling me "oh take your time work will always be there" while I agree and I've loved being able to be with him all day long i still have bills to pay. My state doesn't offer paid maturity leave and I've now burned all my vacation pay so this momma needs to go back to work and make some money to support her family. My husband has been great and working a crap ton of overtime but we are a team and overtime only last so long. Plus I work in an officer. I'll be just fine.

"When are you bringing that baby to see me?" Well she hates the car and travelling with a baby sounds awful so... when I'm done breastfeeding? Or... never?

"You should give her rice cereal, she wakes up at night because she's hungry" Or she's teething? Or growth spurting? Or is.... a baby?

"You hold her too much, she's spoiled" no Deborah, your kid screaming for a candy bar in the checkout line is spoiled.

" You really had a natural birth?! No epidural?!"
Like, what's so bad about breastfeeding?! He's only 3 months. ... And is it so hard to believe some people actually can have a natural birth without pain meds? 🙄
