Anyone else expecting/had a big baby? 9+ lbs?

What's your experience been like? Do you also get lectured at every scan because they assume you're overeating or something? Did you have a vaginal birth or plan to? Did you deliver early or late? Post a picture if you don't mind...would love to see some big babies so I can imagine what my son will look like!

Overeating is not correlated with big babies. It's more about genetics. If you overeat you might gain too much weight but it doesn't necessarily translate to the baby. I gained 26-28lbs with my first and she was still 9lbs at birth. I was a normal weight to start. As for how it went... It was fine!  I told my doctor tearing was a big fear so she helped me through it. I had a minor skin tear (first degree), no stitches and an easy recovery. Baby's head wasn't big though. I think that has more to do with it than weight. My daughter was just chunky! Doctor said "all cheeks and thighs" 😂

Laughed at the overeating part. No they usually ask about your diet to see if your eating healthy at least. And you get asked about and checked for gestational diabetes. Does that run in your family? Even though I never gained more than the recommended weight gain AND exercised very regularly I ended up with a 10lb1oz baby boy. Now here's my really serious advice - don't let them pressure you into a c section because they think they see on an ultrasound that the baby is big. They will scare you with lots of horror stories. But do your research and if necessary get a second opinion. That 10lb baby I delivered vaginally just fine. Then for the next boy we had an ultrasound and the dr went into his big baby, doom and destruction lecture and scared us half to death into having a c section that I did not want. He was 9.5lbs. The next boy was 8.5lbs and we had to have another c section due to complications. But I've always regretted not doing my research first!

My son was 9.11. I had a 3b tear but I didn't listen and pause between contractions. My labour was super quick and easy though and 5 pushes and he was out! Size is no biggie if you can grow a big baby you can birth a big baby xx

I dont know yet. I'm curious as to if little man will take after his dad, because his dad was 9 lbs 12 oz and had a big head 🙄

I know lots of people who were told they were having babies that were somewhere between 9-13 pounds and ended up only have 5-7 pound babies. Don't stress too much about it anyway because you'll only work yourself up about labour. 
I watched someone's baby born and they were told right through the pregnancy it was a Big baby. They had an ultrasound the day before the baby was born and were told that their baby was about 13 pound 7. They tried to convince her to have a c-section and she refused. 
Their baby was born the next day and was only 6 pound 2

My daughter might be big. At 22 weeks she's measuring at the 99th percentile. I'm really curious to see how big she will be at birth.

Docs thought my last girl was gonna be big. Every visit same thing... Measure belly then, wow, she's gonna be big girl. When she arrived, only 7.3 lbs, totally normal. You never know for sure until they get here.

Both my sisters had 9+ lb babies. One was able to deliver, long labor but they don't think that had to do with the baby. She didn't year or anything. My other sister ended up having labor issues, and had to have csection with both of hers. But again wasn't a size issue, there were other factors.

9+ lb come out fine all the time. Don't worry. You'll hear 100 different stories because each labor and delivery is different.
