PLS READ AND RESPOND!! clomid prescribed despite reg. ovulation

Hey guys! Back story: I got off my BC in June 2016 and hubby and I started trying right away. I had a cycle every month and ovulated around cd 18/19.. sometimes 20/21. After 6 months of timing it pretty well and nada, I talked to my doctor. He sent me for an HSG which showed one blocked tube and one open tube. He said he wanted to do clomid to guarantee ovulation closer to cd 14, and said having one tube blocked wasn't reducing my chances that much. Anyone else been prescribed clomid  with reg cycles? Did it help? I felt weird since I knew it was for ovulation and I am already ovulating.
