This is just for future reference but what is the most reliable form of birth control? I feel like I'd be scared that it would backfire and me and my partner would have to use a condom as well, I just want to be confident in my birth control. Tips would be great!

From studies researchers have done, purely based on not getting pregnant the most reliable form, besides abstinence and sterilization is the implant because it is 99.9% effective, then probably the hormonal iud and non hormonal. The pill is 99.9% effective when used perfectly but typical use is 91%.

They most effective would probably be using two forms. One for you(pill, patch, shot, implant, iud etc..) and a condom.

I had a mirena iud and it was fabulous, lasted 5 yrs. I'm going back to it after birth
