When did you first get your period?

I got my first period at almost 16, and I know that's really old but I'm curious as to when most people start to get theirs? Also, any funny stories about when you started are of course welcome! 
As for me, I was on my way to a water-park and too scared to use a tampon.. 😂 Plus, when I noticed I told my mom who immediately announced it to the rest of my family there and called my dad, who was still home. It was embarrassing, but at least everyone was supportive? 😂😳

(Later on my mom also gave me a plant as a gift to symbolize me becoming a woman? 🌿)

I started mine at 9. I was at home. I went upstairs to go to the bathroom, I wiped and seen a bunch of blood, I started yelling for my mom "mom I'm bleeding!" "I'm bleeding down there!". My brother across the hall in his room was all laughing, telling me oh no your dying, it's all over! My mom was coming upstairs as he was saying this and I swear she could have punched him. Lol

Me I was at home was 11, had to go to the bathroom after doing my homework.  So I went and wiped and saw blood, I um opened the bathroom door just a little bit and called for my mom.  She and I were the only ones living together,  single mother she was.  And said um,  mom. I think I started my period,  cuz I have blood on panties, in the toilet and on the toilet paper! I was struggling to even talk about it,  stuttering which I never did before unless I'm  super nervous or scared.  But she had to show me what to do. I mean I know how to use a pad but not put one on at the time and from there on I've been good about it.

I started mine at 10😂😂😂, I was at a club called "boys and girls club" and Idk why but I was always scared to start my period so I would wear a pad just in case. So I was sitting and it felt kinda...wet down there😬 so I asked to go to the bathroom and checked and when I saw it I almost screamed but I didn't I just simply pulled up my pants and walked away😂😂😂

I was at a Christmas get-together at Olive garden just after I turned 13. I went to the bathroom because my stomach hurt and then a gush of wetness... I asked my mom for her car keys. Loudly she asked why? I had to tell her. She only had tampons and offered to help me 😰
