Do you think is necessary to go to prenatal classes?

I'm a first time mum and I don't know if it's really needed, also I know my bf won't have time to go with me because he works far from here and I don't know if I can go alone. In my town there's only classes twice a year and this year it will start in march, when I will be 7/8 months, is it too late to go? How was your experiences in those classes?

I would really recommend them! Yes, your body knows what to do, but there is a lot to learn in terms of positions/movements to get your labor progressing. There is also a lot to learn about what the doctors and nurses will do and what your rights are as a
patient (things you can decline or accept like getting an IV immediately or postponing it, pain relief options etc). It would also include a tour of your hospital where they tell you what to bring and where to go. And no, 7-8 months is not too late, it's perfect actually! I'm a planner- so birth classes really helped me!

The only class I took with my first was the breastfeeding basics class, and only because it was free. If I had to pay for it, I probably wouldn't have gone. I didn't think it was totally necessary to go to the classes, but I don't think they could hurt either. If you're scared or nervous, it could help put your mind at ease. And 7/8 months pregnant is not too late at all to go.

It's maybe not necessary but I found it helpful. Especially if it's given by the hospital you're going to have the baby at. They can tell you about that facility and what to expect on top of birthing stuff. It helped me form a better plan and feel more relaxed about labor. Bit that's me.

We just did the day class at the hospital and we're both Glad we did. Learned all the basics and feel much more prepared. But I'm not taking any breathing classes or anything. Only other class well be taking is infant CPR

Yeah I think it's necessary. It helped me during my first pregnancy I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know before. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I'm thinking about doing it again . Things are different now give it a try

I won't be attending any of the classes. My husband and I are in the medical field and know how to deliver baby and all the stuff that comes with it. I know a lot of mothers that didn't attend any of the classes and they all turned out great and figured out exactly what they needed to do within a couple of days.

We went for our first and enjoyed it. I found it gave me confidence because it showed I knew 95% of the information which relieved my stress. 
I have friends who ever went and were fine. It depends on your own personality. If anything it won't hurt to go. Oh and I was 7months when we went to our classes which was perfect because it goes through labour stuff and newborn stuff.
