How soon for Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)?

Question

My doctor told me today that he recommends a frozen transfer versus fresh for this IVF cycle. For those who have had a an FET, how soon after egg retrieval did you have the transfer?

I hypersimmed. Retrieval was 10/31. Transfer was 12/18. I had to have a full cycle to "cool down" in between.

Interesting! Is there a reason? In my head I think frozen is better bc it gives your body time to heal from the cycle but my RE told me fresh was always better ( until the pregenetic testing came up for an addl 8 grand, then dr said there was not much difference 😞)

I had an Ivf last year in August. And had a miscarriage then I'm having my FET tomorrow and using one embryo from last year a frozen one, xx
