Using an infant car seat vs a convertible car seat for an infant

Which is better? Pros and cons? My baby will be born at the end of September / first of October so it won't be cold here yet until he/she is a month or two old, but I feel like once it is I'll like not having to pack them and worry about slipping and falling if it's icy or something or worry about them getting cold.... help 😭 the money doesn't concern me so not having to buy an infant seat is irrelevant for me money wise
