What could this be and should I see my gyno?

For awhile now everytime my boyfriend and I have sex I've been having pain. As soon as we start, it hurts. Sometimes more than others (to the point where I actually cry). It feels like irritation, but how long could irritation actually last? We've put sex off for about 2 weeks before because of this to see if that would help. But it's still painful. It has really put a strain on my sex life and has gotten to be so annoying. Anybody have any experience with something like this?
