How fast can you dilate?

FTM here, and I'm curious how fast can you dilate? I'm 1cm dilated as of yesterday and just curious if it's likely there will be a change on Friday when I have my next appt. I've been having Braxton hicks for the last 4 days straight.

With my second I was 3cm at my last OB visit. I was having sporadic mild contractions. On the Saturday evening at 8pm I had my first super strong one, made my eyes water! I had her at 10:22pm. When I got to the hospital I was 8cm.

In my previous pregnancy I went from a 3 to a 5 in the same day. But this time I have been at a 2 for two weeks and I have walked so much. You just never know.

I dilated to 5 without feeling a single contraction. A week later, I went in to labor and had my daughter in 3 hours. And mine was the longest birth in our family. You can dilate fairly quickly.

Agreed with the other poster, totally depends on you!  I went from 1-3 in a day from walking, others can sit at 1 cm for weeks😖

Depends on your body , mine went by quick . But the epidural slowed me down 🙄
