Telling a job your pregnant?! Neccessary or not?

Question

Im looking for a 2nd,part time job, to save a bit. I have an interview next week and I am wondering if I should tell her im expecting. Im 3 months,so it is not obvious.
Do I Have to tell her right away? I feel like if I do, that may sway jobs away from me,though I know thats against the law...but im sure places discriminate anyways.

Do I not say it during the interview? But then what if I got the job? When do you tell your job? After a week, a month?

You don't HAVE to tell them anything. But eventually they'll figure it out. If it's just a part time job and you're not expecting FMLA leave (you won't qualify) or maternity pay I wouldn't tell them until after you're hired. Just be aware that chances are they won't save your position for you while you're on leave.

You do not have to disclose pregnancy to anyone. It is supposed to be something that they can't even consider during the process (I know, reguardless of whay they should do, it still happens). When i was pregnant with both of my kids, i was looking for a new job. I did tell them i was pregnant. I was offered the job both times... Both jobs were with the military (with me being a spouse) and their HR is very by the book and wont allow pregnancy to be used as a a reason for not hiring someone. But again, i was lucky. If you want to share, go for it. But if you feel more comfortable keeping it to yourself, don't share. Like i said, they legally cant even ask about pregnancy.

I would tell them after getting the offer. But keep in mind you probably won't qualify for fmla from them since it'll be part time so they don't need to hire you back after you give birth.

It depends, im some jobs you have to tell employers when you're 15 weeks due to health and safety (at holiday entertainers and other jobs that could increase the risk of misscarriage or problems) check the rules for you're job

I would love to hear other women's opinions on this. Personally, I don't think it's the employers businesss at all. I'm a freelancer and when I get pregnant, I plan to keep it from my clients for as long as possible. Mostly just because I don't care to discuss much of my personal life with them, but also because I don't want them to stop hiring me because of it. I want to stop working on my own terms.

It depends where you are located. In Canada it is against labour laws to dismiss anyone because of pregnancy. It's not against the law to not tell them you're pregnant unless it's noted in the job advertisement that the job is too labour intensive or something like that for pregnant women. Also, the mat leave process here can take months to set up so you'd want to tell your employer sooner rather than later (we get 12 months off, but not all employers top up benefits and you have to work somewhere for minimum of 3 months straight to qualify). I personally do not plan on telling my long time employer until I'm at least 4 months or until I start showing (or if asked) but that has nothing to do with being afraid of my job security. If I was applying for a job while pregnant, I would tell them but that's just me, I hate lying.

With my job I was 4 or 5 months pregnant I didn't say anything until after my first week of training. You aren't obligated to tell. Once I told I got my dr to confirmed and also got approved for ADA
