what does a miscarriage look like?

I was two weeks late. I got negative pregnancy test 3 days ago. I woke up this morning to my period. It's lighter than normal and bright red little tissue things in it. My pad did not absorb it.  It normally does with bloods clots.

I feel like it's something else. I have never had pelvic and I'm 22 and been to 3 different obgyn. It's getting frustrating

I would imagine that if you had a miscarriage your test would have come out at least faintly positive bc the hcg hormone is in your system for a while. I miscarried at 3 months; so there was a lot of tissue... not to be tmi- but it was deep deep burgundy (the sac/placenta however was a different color). I'm no expert even though I went through it. It's possible that you had a missed miscarriage- when you miscarry so early on that you mistake it for a period. I would ask your doctor just to be safe. Good luck, wish I could be more helpful.
